Artists’ stretcher bars now available

As part of the new business ‘Huge‘, incorporating Huge Images, Huge Designs and Huge Prints I have taken on the distributorship for a range of extremely high quality stretcher bars, around which canvas is stretched for use by artists or in our case following digital and screen printing.

The prices are very competitive considering the quality of the standard 45mm deep finger jointed/laminated spruce wood stretchers (usually they are only 25mm deep) which really make a canvas stand out from a wall when lit properly.

The stretcher bars are available in lengths from 30cm upwards in increments of 5cm, with or without cross braces, although these are unnecessary under 150cm due to their depth.

Other profiles are avialable:

‘Standard 35′ – 35mm x 18mm light duty stretcher
‘Classic 45′ – 45mm x 18mm medium duty stretcher
‘Classic 65′ – 65mm x 18mm medium duty stretcher
‘Classic 25-65′ – 65mm x 25mm medium duty stretcher
‘Museum 45′ – 45mm x 45mm heavy duty stretcher (requires cross braces over 1500mm)
‘Museum 65′ – 45mm x 65mm heavy duty stretcher (cross braces recommended over 1500mm)
‘Museum 95′ – 95mm x 40mm extra heavy duty stretcher for very large canvasses (cross braces recommended over 1500mm)

The dimensions above are all quoted with the width first and the depth last. Cross braces can be provided for all sizes, but due to the substantial nature of these stretchers, they are not generally necessary on sizes below 1200mm. All profiles are available in 5cm increments from 30cm upwards, although 10 cm increments are carried as stock items. Very large custom sizes can be accommodated on special order.

New sites for GP Practice business

Two new sites are now confirmed:

  1. White Rose Health Centre in Caerphilly, due for launch on September 1st 2004
  2. BK Health, the corporate site for the company behind the generic GP Surgeries idea

One more is still to come shortly – Bury Knowle. This will be followed by others as BK Health win further contracts to manage practices under GMS contracts.

ORB website updates

It’s been a while since I have updated the ORB site but at least it now reflects the fully fledged nature of the business as it moves from fledgeling development status to a fully rolled out network of community Customer Area Networks (CANs).

Voice over IP (VoIP) services are the next thing to test on the network – the service is there, but now we need to try it for real!

GP Practices

A new venture to create websites to support GP Practices in the UK – we have already done one for Tithebarn Medical Centre and now we have a number more to complete for BK Health. This is to be a new product/service offering, using a central core of data for Health Professionals and custom content created by the practice using the CMS (Content Management System).
